Research from Nielsen of 30,000+ mobile subscribers showed that 71.4% of U.S. adults own a smartphone. As the chart below highlights, more than 80% of adults between the ages of 18 and 44 utilize smartphones and usage is comparable between males and females.
With 171.5 million people owning smartphones, these devices have become the staple of everyday life and the on-the-go tool of choice for consumers looking to catch up on emails, tap their social networks, or even track the health and wellness.
