In September, we blogged about some research that showed time spent in health and fitness apps has increased 51% over the past year. This research which was from Localytics and used information from 28,000 applications installed across 1.5 billion devices. New research from Flurry shows that usage health and fitness apps grew 89%, exceeding overall mobile app usage growth of 76%. This is important because it highlights that employers should embrace the technologies that their employees are already using. Proprietary apps and devices by wellness vendors do not embrace the choices and preferences that employees need to stay engaged in a wellness program.
